Why I Will Not Give Up On My Calling

There have been moments in my life that I have dreamed what life would be like if I was doing something different.

I have occasionally questioned if life would be easier if I just coasted or focused on whats best for me or my family.

I have argued with God about if I am living the life He has directed me to live then why aren’t things easier.

And then, Jesus brings me back to when I was 9 yrs old and I clearly saw Him for who He is and how much I needed a relationship with Him.

And then, Jesus reminds me of a night in my college dorm where He invited me to live my life to reach students for Him.

I will not give up on the calling Jesus offered me or living the life that He made me for because:

  • I refuse to recover from being rescued from the cost of my own sin.
  • I refuse to let the successes, failures and problems of my life become the leading influencers in my decision making.
  • I choose to believe to see myself as God sees me versus how I view myself
  • I desire to serve and love God with my best hours and focus of my day
  • I long to see a hurting, lost world meet the True God, who loves them and offers them freedom, forgiveness and purpose.
  • I realize the best way to live life to the fullest is to live the life the God has called me to live.
  • I believe that God has plans for the next generation that will transform this world, but it is contingent upon leaders stepping in to mentor, train, and unleash them.

If you find yourself doubting, frustrated, or feeling like God’s calling for your life has passed you by, I encourage you to remember who God is, who God says you are, and decide today whether you will choose courage to never give up on the calling God has put on your life.  It’s not too late.  It won’t be easy.  The potential for the Kingdom of God to be unleashed is endless.
