For the past 4 years this has been VERGE week where over 100 students and adults have given their lives to Christ and 100’s have experienced Jesus in way that has changed their lives. VERGE has been a personal highlight of ministry in my life and it was a gift to lead it during the last 4 years. I will never forget seeing students experience the beach for the first time, the countless hours, sweat, and prayer that went on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday to prepare the camp, the pictures of students running into the ocean, the moment where students encountered Jesus, the worship that literally knocked the power out, the hundreds waiting on the stairwells waiting to get in, the stories of students telling people about what Jesus has done in their lives, the celebrations, the callings, and the minutes, days, weeks, and months after VERGE when people lived out what God had invited them into. This week I am spending time remembering what Jesus did on the VERGE and I am asking Him to rekindle the fires that He started. I am asking Jesus to do a new thing in me and the students and adults who attended the VERGE. Today, I am sad that the VERGE is not happening this year, but I am living in the Truth of Revelation 3:3. I am remembering and holding onto the Truth that God spoke to me in those days. I am asking Him to fan into flame the passion and callings He put on my heart. For those of you who had the privilege to participate in the VERGE I am asking you to take time this week to remember how you experienced Jesus and to hold on to what He told you about you, your life, and His offers He made to you. The VERGE was a camp where people experienced Jesus, it was not meant to be an idol or destination point, it was always intended to be a launching place for people to walk out the plans that God has for their lives. Remember, hold on, and share. VERGE may have ended, but what Jesus is doing is just beginning.
