Friends and Family

As some of you know, after weeks of prayer, intense work, and effort Quest Community Church had the difficult task of laying off 15 staff members and I was one of those affected. I wanted to communicate how we are doing, who we are, and what Jesus is doing in us.

First, I love Jesus! I love my church!   I am forever grateful for the last 5.5 yrs of being the student pastor at Quest Community Church. All 3 of my kids have given their lives to Christ, I have seen over 1000 students come to Christ, have witnessed unbelievable miracles for the Holy Spirit, have seen dozens of students hear Jesus’ voice and receive lifelong callings of missionaries, pastors, and Church leaders. I have gotten to serve on the best staff that I have ever known. I am grateful beyond words.

The logistics: My last day at Quest Community Church will be November 25. QCC diligently fought for being able to offer a severance package and that package is giving us the ability to take the month of December to come up with a game plan for our next step.   The board of QCC is committed to the future of student ministry and we are really excited about that and what Jesus is going to do through students. There is a team of committed volunteers who have been and will continue to invest into the lives of students. These volunteers are rare in all the world and have been gifted with the ability to lead students straight to Jesus.

How are my family and I doing?   Kris, the kids, and I are doing good. We are sad, but not upset or hopeless. We grieve but not like those that do not have hope. We are excited about where Jesus will lead us next. I am always amazed at how our kids hear Jesus and are ready to follow Him, even in surprising and challenging times. I can’t wait to share the stories of how our kids have faithfully followed Jesus and led Kris and I through situations. Kris and I are spending time with Jesus, letting Him guide us and direct us in this season and we feel really solid and not alone.

Next steps: Our next step is to live in the freedom and gift of attending QCC. We love our church!   We are very called to ministry and have heard Jesus says that He has a next for us in ministry, until Jesus connects us with the next ministry spot He has for us, we will be living life to the fullest in Lexington, KY   Kris is seeking consistent/full time employment – she is currently covering a maternity leave.   I will be looking for employment – if you have any ideas for me, please let me know.   If you are in Lexington and want to connect for Starbucks, Orange Leaf, or a lunch please let me know, I would love to connect.

Last Thoughts for today: We love Lexington. We love Quest Community Church! We know Jesus really well in this season and are walking with Him. We believe that student ministry is going to advance at QCC in this next season. We believe that what Jesus has told these students and volunteers about who they are and the calling on their lives at QCC is true. These are some of the most anointed people I have ever seen and I can’t wait to see what Jesus will do in and through these people. My encouragement is to get your hopes up for what Jesus can do in these days! Matthew 28:20 is true today more than ever to me.

Let’s Go
